![]() ![]() Potential surprise signingīerman: If the Eagles are looking for a Bradberry replacement via free agency, Cardinals cornerback Byron Murphy is an enticing possibility. Minshew could do worse than coming back to a place where he’s comfortable and hope to find a more receptive market next year. If Minshew doesn’t find the opportunity he’s looking for, the Eagles would welcome him back as a known entity behind Jalen Hurts. Wulf: I know Gardner Minshew would love to compete for a starting job somewhere, but there are so many more respectable quarterbacks on the market than usual. Edwards, an undrafted rookie who went from special teams to role player to every-down starter, is a good example of player development. Edwards’ consistent production and steady improvement have earned him a bigger deal, but how many off-ball linebackers are going to sign at a number that becomes prohibitive for the Eagles? Howie Roseman likes to reward homegrown players. There are seven in The Athletic’s top 50 alone. Edwards, which is less about him than it is about the depth of the off-ball linebacker class in free agency. Eagles free agent who could return when a market doesn’t developīerman: T.J. ![]() That combined with his name value might land him something in the range of a $10 million deal for a team desperate for defensive tackle help (which could be the Eagles). Wulf: Maybe Fletcher Cox? Overshadowed by the four teammates who topped 10 sacks, Cox was much better in 2022 than he was in 2021. Isaac Seumalo could become one of the NFL’s highest-paid interior offensive linemen. There are 10 offensive guards who make at least $10 million per year. He can play multiple spots along the offensive line - he even played left tackle as a rookie - and that makes him appealing to prospective teams that could use him at either guard spot, or even center. Seumalo is the top free agent at his position, which leads to a major payday. He’ll now become one of the NFL’s highest-paid interior offensive linemen. Eagles free agent who will make more than fans might expectīerman: Isaac Seumalo once lost his starting job. Only Chris Jones and Cameron Heyward have more sacks among interior defensive linemen than Hargrave’s 18 1/2 over the past two seasons. Hargrave, if he ends up finding a deal the Eagles can’t afford to match, will be much more difficult to replace. No slight on Bradberry, who was terrific, but the Eagles have been able to successfully wait out the cornerback market over the past few offseasons to land starting-caliber players to pair with Darius Slay.
